In addition, I did a damage control piece for a Chicago Alderman: Howard Brookins Jr. He had a terrible bicycle accident that required reconstructive surgery on his face. He was hospitalized and unavailable to meet or speak with his constituents for weeks. And, his constituents were angry at his absence, as his office did a poor job in communicating the extent of his injuries.
I was asked by their Community Outreach Coordinator to write a piece to mitigate the negative perception that was circulating. That Facebook post, that I authored in about 5 minutes, was picked up by dozens and dozens of internationally known periodicals and news outlets.
